Yeah, I really do think the Yankees can win the World Series this year.
I think we have an outstanding group of players, and the biggest thing right now is that our guys are getting healthy at the right time. Even though we’re four games behind in the race for first place, we’re still right there and definitely have a chance to make a push.
When Aaron Judge went down, the Yankees became a different team. We’re simply a better team when Judge is healthy and playing. When he’s in the lineup, we’re usually near the top of the MLB in just about every offensive category.
And then there’s the pitching.
I think our pitching staff is the best I’ve seen from the Yankees in the past few years. Cam Schlittler has been leading the way and has put himself in the conversation for the AL Cy Young Award. Gerrit Cole is also returning to form after Tommy John surgery, Max Fried has been pitching extremely well, and Carlos Rodón has been back and contributing.
If Ryan Weathers is able to return as expected, that would give us another important piece on the pitching side.
We’ve also gotten some really impressive contributions from our younger players. Ben Rice, Spencer Jones, and George Lombard Jr. have all made an impact, and their development could be huge for the Yankees down the stretch.
So, can the Yankees win it all?
Absolutely.
We’re not in first place right now, but there’s still plenty of baseball left to play. If this team can stay healthy, get everyone clicking at the right time, and continue getting strong pitching, I really believe the Yankees have what it takes to win the World Series.
And if we do?
Maybe the haters will finally stop talking.
